Welcome to the first blog post of DTT.
As I write this now, the first day of my senior year in high school just started and ended on this computer, and I have a pretty good feeling about where I'm headed. For the short term stuff, that means I'm getting pretty excited for my next trip to Tennessee and visits with friends that have gone away to college, but on a larger scale I can tell that I'm ready for a change. For someone as impulsive as me, this is nothing out of the ordinary, but when it comes time to graduate, apparently impulsive life decisions are not as ideal. In all honesty though the creative and adventurous sides of my ambition have grown larger and larger over the years, and I'm fortunate enough now to say that they've spilled into my professional future as well.
When I first started high school, my dream job was something technology related that would pay the bills and make me happy, but being thirteen I didn't have a clue what that meant. In that same year though, I made my best decision yet, and signed up for my school's intro to videography class, and from there I hit the ground running. Over the past three years, I've had the privilege to film countless plays, basketball games, and commercials to pay for my ironically most-expensive hobby, video production. Although it is expensive, video production and photography are the only things I've found so far that let me mesh the fun of electronics with the creativity of art.
Moving forward, my plan is to continue creating videos, taking pictures, and traveling to the prettiest places where I can to do both. For the next few months I expect this to be a steady but slow push, given the uncertainty of Covid and the restrictions that come along with a pandemic, but in the future I hope to make travel photography a massive part of my daily life. In the meantime, you can expect weekly updates on my blog here, as well as photos constantly available on both here and the DTT-Live facebook page. I hope you'll stick around for the ride and follow my journey with photography.
